California Fitness & Yoga announces 4 October reopening
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, 30 September 2021: Vietnam’s largest fitness and wellness group, FLG Vietnam, today announced that all California Fitness & Yoga clubs in Ho Chi Minh City will open their doors from 6 am on Monday 4 October in line with the city’s announcement allowing fitness centers to reopen.
California’s clubs will all operate in full compliance with the government’s stated pre-conditions, which include:
- Maximum capacity of 100 people, including staff and members
- “Green card” indicating that the member has been fully vaccinated or has recovered from Covid-19
- Providing separate entrances and exits where possible
- Checking temperatures at check-in
- Adhering to 5K regulations
In order to operate under the maximum member capacity guideline, the fitness leader has added a new gym access booking functionality to its LivWell app, and recommends all members to install or update the app to ensure they are able to reserve their preferred workout slot.
In addition to the government’s mandates, California Fitness and Yoga will also ensure a California Standard safe and hygienic workout experience for its members by:
- Increasing its cleaning team and cleaning frequency
- Limiting class occupancy
- Reducing class times to 45 minutes
- Providing 90 minute workout slots
- Workout sessions must be booked in advance
- Offering hand sanitizer at all counters
- Mandating masks be worn by all members and staff
- Added disinfectant to scent diffusers to kill airborne bacteria
- Recording all check-ins and check-outs
“The reopening of the fitness industry is extremely exciting news for the entire city,” said FLG Vietnam’s Chief Executive Officer Mr. Dane Fort. “We cannot wait to start welcoming our members back to our clubs, and continuing on our mission to deliver health, wellness and happiness to all 100 million people in Vietnam.”
“After so long at home, we know that our members are looking for two things from us. They are looking for ways to make sure their immune system is strong enough to fight Covid in future, as we move to a new normal of ‘living with’ the virus; and we know they are looking for a change in their daily patterns after so long at home,” Fort continued.
With that in mind, California Fitness & Yoga will be offering two new programs for new and returning members. Its new Health Booster program assesses a member’s recent habits and identifies means to improve one’s self in terms of physical exercise, sleep, nutrition or mental health. It is also launching its Energy Booster program, which crafts a fun and engaging workout program aimed at helping people regain positive momentum in their lives. Both are free and a part of what we see being the “smart way of restarting” of a person’s wellness. For those who are not yet ready to return to the gyms, it will continue offering its Digital Fitness Membership, which gives its subscribers access to yoga, meditation and HIIT classes online.
Memberships, which had been suspended through the social distancing period, will automatically be reactivated from 7 October, however members wishing to extend their suspension period can do so via LivWell or by contacting member services.
