When Cathay Pacific meets Seattle … every day
Cathay Pacific has announced that its forthcoming non-stop service to Seattle will go daily from summer 2019, further strengthening the only direct link between Hong Kong and the bustling city on the west coast of the United States and offering our customers more choice and increased convenience.
To be launched on 31 March this year as a four-times-weekly operation, the airline is upping frequency from 1 July 2019 to meet thriving demand. The additional services are scheduled to depart Hong Kong on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; returning the following day from Seattle.
Together, Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon currently operates 19 passenger flights per week from Ho Chi Minh City, 12 flights per week from Hanoi and 7 flights per week from Da Nang to Hong Kong. The airline’s Country Manager Vietnam, Mr Lance Kwong said the upcoming Seattle route from Hong Kong further reaffirms the airline’s commitment to connecting Vietnam to the important North America market.
Mr. Kwong said: “The Cathay Pacific Group is pleased to be introducing a daily service to Seattle, providing more convenience and choice to our customers. We continue to prioritize Vietnamese connectivity to the world, and indeed with almost 40,000 Vietnamese Americans living in the greater Seattle area, this flight may serve to reconnect families and friends. There are also strong business and trade ties between Vietnam and the USA and the demand for business travel to North America is expected to continue to increase rapidly in the years ahead. As a result, we believe there will be considerable demand for both business and leisure travel from Vietnam on this new Seattle route.”
Moreover, Cathay Pacific has also announced an expansion of their codeshare partnership with Alaska Airlines from this March, covering 9 routes via Seattle including Denver, Detroit, Houston, Las Vegas, New Orleans, Orlando, Portland (Oregon), San Diego and St. Louis. This means that Cathay Pacific passengers can now easily connect to more destinations in the USA than ever before.
Flown by the airline’s technologically-advanced Airbus A350-900 aircraft, the airline’s customers will enjoy a superior experience when they fly between Hong Kong and Seattle. Cathay Pacific’s A350-900s are among the quietest and most environmentally-friendly aircraft in the sky and are equipped with comfortable seating, an enhanced inflight entertainment system and Wi-Fi connectivity across Business, Premium Economy and Economy classes.
The Seattle route is Cathay Pacific’s eighth to the United States and joins existing services to Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York (JFK), New York (Newark), San Francisco and Washington DC.
