DHL Express inaugurates new service center in Hanoi, marking its 100th TAPA “A” certified facility in Asia Pacific
DHL Express, the world’s leading international express service provider, has inaugurated its latest service center at a grand opening ceremony in Hanoi, Vietnam. Located in the capital’s Bac Tu Liem district, the new West Hanoi Service Center is another step in the global logistics leader’s ongoing commitment to facilitating global trade for Vietnam.
Representing an investment of approximately EUR2 million and spanning almost 2,600sqm, the Hanoi West Service Center is almost three times the size of its previous site. With sustainability at the core of DHL’s business, the new service center is equipped with an array of technologies to minimize carbon emissions and maximize operational efficiencies. These include green air-conditioning systems utilizing variable refrigerant volume technology, helicopter fans and electric vehicles.
“According to the DHL Trade Growth Atlas, Vietnam will continue to be one of the top 10 countries for trade volume growth in the next five years,” said Bernardo Bautista, General Director and Country Manager, DHL Express Vietnam. “We are optimistic that the nation’s exports and imports will continue to rise, including the northern region where several of the largest exporters from the technology sector are located. This new service center in Hanoi is well-positioned to provide these businesses with the best possible access to international markets in the years ahead.”
The West Hanoi Service Center is also the 100th facility in the Asia Pacific region (excluding China) to achieve TAPA “A” certification by the Transported Asset Protection Association.

Handing over the 100th TAPA “A” Certification in Asia Pacific to DHL Express at the opening ceremony of its West Hanoi Service Center, Tony Lugg, TAPA Certified Expert and Chairman of TAPA APAC, said, “TAPA Class “A” is the highest level of our security standards and denotes a facility as one that offers “elevated security protection”. According to the General Statistics Office data, Vietnam recorded double-digit cumulative export growth after nine months of 2022, with electronics and garments among the top export commodities. From the latest DHL Trade Growth Atlas, Vietnam, among the other ASEAN countries, is also forecasted to lead the world in export growth over the next five years. The IMF also forecasts that Vietnam will see a growth in trade volume.
