“HALF-WAY THERE!” Cali Celebrates 10,000th Application For World Record Attempt
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; 30 June 2021: California Fitness and Yoga today ‘rounded the turn’ with the 10,000th signup on its quest to transform the lives of 20,000 people in Vietnam – and claim the country’s first Fitness Guinness World Record in the process.
Announced in May, the nation’s leading fitness group has set its sights on breaking the world record for history’s largest Before-And-After album of transformed bodies and transformed lives.
Interrupting its standard-evening-broadcast of a CALIxHOME workout session, an MC put in a Zoom call to the lucky winner, with an impromptu celebration breaking out where Ms. Tran Ngoc Han was awarded a one-year membership at her nearest California Fitness & Yoga club.
Joining the session from her home in Can Tho, Han said: “Two years ago, I weighed over 75 kilograms. I bumped into an old friend who did not even recognize me, and from that moment I was determined to lose weight. A year later, with frequent training and better nutrition habits, I had gotten down to 58 kgs. When I heard about Cali’s Guinness World Record attempt, I thought it was a great opportunity to share my journey with others and let them know that nothing is impossible. If you are determined to succeed, you too can get in the best shape of your life!”
Today’s announcement sees Cali tracking ahead of schedule in its quest for Guinness-gold, with celebrities including H’Hen Nie, Quang Vinh, Bình An, Anh Dũng and Hương Ly along with individuals from all over Vietnam to be part of the challenge.
In addition to the overwhelming popularity of the program among individuals, corporations have also rushed to join the program, with a keen focus on using fitness to enhance the lives, lifestyles and productivity of their teams.
Companies joining so far include NKid Group, Lotte Mart, TTC Hospitality, Lazada, Grab Vietnam, ACC Vietnam, DHL Vietnam, Livwell, Robert Walters, Tasty Kitchen, Sunlife, Creatory, Novo Nordisk, Sunbytes, AEON Mall Tân Phú, Shamdi – hệ thống đồ tập gym & yoga, AMES English Cantho, Vietnamnet ICom – Paytech, Alma Vietnam, Canh Dong Bat Tan Studio Danang, Victoria English Center Danang, the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Police, and notably Hong Bang International University, Hoa Sen University, Foreign Trade University Hanoi, and AIESEC Vietnam which have signed up students to be a part of the Record.
“It is inspiring watching the photos roll in,” said Mr. Dane Fort, Chief Executive Officer of FLG Vietnam – California’s parent company. “We see photos of people who say they have always felt underweight gaining muscle and definition; we see people who say they have always been overweight and self-conscious about their size sending in shots of themselves multiple-sizes smaller and multiple-kilos lighter. It reaffirms our mission to improve the lives of everyone here.”
Himself a transformation-story, Dane lost over 60 kilograms several years ago, in a personal mission to become a better person, manager and father, and has become a vocal advocate for improved wellness practices for all. His own journey provided the impetus for the company’s commitment to carry its wellness message to all 100 million people in Vietnam by 2025, and to reach 43 million people through its clubs, social platforms, and LivWell smartphone app by years’ end.
“We’d like to congratulate Han on being the 10,000th sign-up to our Transformation world record, and on her amazing weight loss transformation journey. I can’t wait to meet her in one of our clubs soon. We encourage everyone to follow in the footsteps of her amazing wellness journey,” Dane said.
All people need to do to be a part of this momentous record is to log on to https://join.cfyc.com.vn/, where all they need to do is submit a before and after photo showing the ways in which health and wellness has changed their lives.
