Ho Tram gets the ‘Green Light’
The Grand Ho Tram Strip today marked a ‘grand slam’ this award season, taking at the Green Hotel Award as the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2018.
In announcement sure to leave other properties ‘green with envy’, The Grand was recognized for its environmental consciousness by a judging panel that assessed each resort against 11 key criteria. These include environmental policy and actions for hotel operation, use of green products, collaboration with the community local organizations, waste water treatment and management, and so forth.
The Grand Ho Tram Strip will be awarded the ASEAN Green Hotel Award 2018 at the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2018 from January 22 to 26, 2018 at Shangri-La Hotel, Chiang Mai, Thailand.
“We have made significant strides toward ‘greening’ our property,” said The Grand’s Executive Chairman, Mr. Michael Kelly. “These include our investment last year in our own natural gas power plant, which not only decreases our reliance on the coal-fueled grid, but also deploys innovative technology that uses by-product to heat and cool The Grand and all of the other amenities that we are building along the Ho Tram Strip.”
ASEAN Green Hotel Award is a ceremony held by Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and ASEAN Member States, as recognition to those who complied with the ASEAN Green Hotel Standard. The objective of this Hotel Standard is to develop an ASEAN Green Hotel Standard with a certification process which increase the environmental-friendly and energy conservation in the ASEAN accommodation industry.
2017 marks a year of brilliant achievements accompanied with striving efforts of The Grand Ho Tram Strip, especially with the addition of the ASEAN Green Hotel Award and two prestigious “Vietnam Luxury Spa Resort” and “Asia’s Luxury Coastal Resort” from the World Luxury Hotel Awards to its trophy case.
