Nokia to showcase the power of 5G

With the development of Vietnam’s growth firmly in its sights, Nokia today showcased a series of demonstrations of its cutting edge technologies including 5G that are set to pair its world leading expertise with the huge potential the market offers toward the development of the nation’s communications infrastructure.
Nokia today tore-the-wraps off some of its latest technologies, demonstrating them to an array of audiences in Hanoi at the Innovation Roadshow. Among the wide array of technologies on show, Nokia is keen to showcase a complete and robust 5G ecosystem that could enable the nation to achieve its commercial, social and industrial goals as it continues to grow.
Vietnam has been earmarked as a priority nation for Nokia, where the company’s commitment to Vietnam sees it aspire to be central to the acceleration of a digital future and offer life-enhancing benefits for Vietnamese people through its technology.
Highlights of the demos:
Evolution to 5G core
With Nokia’s cloud-native 5G core, service providers can deliver on the promise of 5G with scale, reliability, security and operational simplicity. This demo shows how Nokia solutions provide critical functions to control and secure the new service based control plane in 5G Core networks.

Nokia meshed Wi-Fi Portfolio & Home Insight
Nokia Wi-Fi is solution that brings high capacity Wi-Fi to every room, making it simple for service provider and end-user to use. Set in a home environment, this demo showcases how the Nokia solution enables various capabilities such as seamless roaming among access points, fingerprinting to get insights in the home network and end-user mobile apps.

- Reduce operational costs by decimating the number of Wi-Fi related helpdesk calls and truck rolls (also resulting in reduced customer churn)

Nokia Fixed Wireless Access
Communications service providers face the challenge finding access solutions that overcome their unique challenges. This demo shows how we explore and address to these challenges with Nokia solutions including Fiber, Copper, Coax, wireless and hybrid access. Fixed Wireless Access provides a flexible and cost effective choice to supplement fiber deployments in hard-to-reach areas. With Fixed Wireless Access, CSP’s can easily compete out of region, deploy high speed services quickly and address hard-to-reach areas.
Wireless PON is a new technology that eliminates the need for fiber drops on PON networks by using 60 GHz 802.11ad wireless to connect end-users over an integrated system. This hardware demo shows Nokia’s first release of this technology and the world’s first WiGig integrated PON solution.

Ultra Compact Network
Nokia Ultra Compact Network is a complete LTE network, including radio, core, and applications, that can be deployed within minutes to provide voice, video and broadband data services and public safety and private LTE customers. It is the smallest form factor of Nokia’s compact, deployable LTE systems for mission and business critical communications.
This standalone network is able to cover in remote or congested locations, bring instant broadband connectivity for first responders and business critical users and can be used as backup for network outages for instance in case of urgency or natural disasters.
