Xiaomi announces first Authorized Mi Store in Vietnam

To welcome the new year, Xiaomi is also introducing the Mi A1 Special Edition Red at VND 5.990.000
HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam, 6 January 2018 — Global technology leader Xiaomi, in partnership with market expansion partner Digiworld Group, opened Vietnam’s first Authorized Mi Store today. At the occasion, it also announced that Mi A1 Special Edition Red will be available in limited numbers. Mi A1 Special Edition Red comes in an attractive, vibrant shade of red, complemented by discreet separation lines — perfect for consumers who want a smartphone that stands out.
First Authorized Mi Store opening
Located at 3F-26 Crescent Mall in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 7, the Authorized Mi Store offers shoppers an insight into the range of lifestyle technology products that form part of Xiaomi’s “Mi Ecosystem” range.
In addition to the smartphones that have captured the imagination of Vietnamese customers in the 10 months since the company announced its market entry, the Authorized Mi Store will also showcase the award-winning Mi LED Desk Lamp, Mi Electric Scooter, Mi Robot Vacuum, Mi Induction Heating Rice Cooker and Mi Band 2.
Xiaomi Senior Vice President Wang Xiang said: “The opening of our first Authorized Mi Store in HCMC proves that we have great expectations for Xiaomi’s growth in Vietnam. We feel that the Vietnamese market has great potential and we are also very excited to bring our popular Mi A1 Special Edition Red into Vietnam. We are all very excited to have this momentum in Vietnam to continue bringing new products with great technology to the people at price points that provide outstanding value.”
The company, which inked a distribution partnership with DGW in March 2017, has gone from strength to strength under the partnership. It views the Authorized Mi Store as an immersive showcase of the depth and breadth of its portfolio, demonstrating its commitment to providing Vietnamese customers with greater accessibility to experience its wide array range of products.
CEO of Digiworld Doan Hung Viet said: “The partnership between Xiaomi and DGW today reaches another milestone as we inaugurate a store packed with many of the technologies that have made Xiaomi such a world leader in this space. As a Market Expansion Service with a two-decade legacy of excellence, we are always looking for innovative ways to bring our partners products to Vietnam. We look forward to continue bringing Xiaomi’s products to Vietnam.”
Mi A1 Special Edition Red
Xiaomi also introduced a special edition red variant of the popular Mi A1, to welcome the new year and continue the exciting journey in Vietnam.
Mi A1 has an attractive full-metal body design that measures just 7.3mm in thickness, with discreet separation lines for a seamless look and rounded edges for great hand feel.
Mi A1 incorporates a dual camera configuration, with wide angle and telephoto lenses used to incredible effect. The two lenses allow Mi A1 to calculate what is in the foreground and what is in the background, creating a depth-of-field effect that typically requires a DSLR lens to achieve, allowing the user to create photos of unparalleled clarity and color.
Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor based on the 14nm manufacturing process, as well as a 3080 mAh battery, Mi A1 provides users with a smooth experience that lasts all day.
Mi A1 runs on stock Android, a software experience designed by Google. Priced at VND 5.990.000 with 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage (expandable via microSD card slot), Mi A1 Special Edition Red is now available at the Authorized Mi Store, and retail partner stores, such as Mobile World, FPT, local kings.
