REDMI NOTE 7 LEADS THE WAY FOR A NEW RANGE OF PRODUCTS
TO VIETNAM IN 2ND BIRTHDAY
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, 21 March 2019 – Global technology leader Xiaomi today kicked off its third year in Vietnam in style by ripping-the-wraps of four new additions to the company’s already expansive product portfolio at a star-studded event held in Ho Chi Minh City’s White Palace (HCMC). Led by the long-awaited and widely-heralded Redmi Note 7, the event served to denote just how far the international technology leader has come since its Vietnam debut two years earlier.
“On 15 March 2017 Xiaomi first entered Vietnam with its distributor agreement,” said Mr. Steven Shi, Xiaomi’s Head of Southeast Asia. “We started with nothing here other than some very loyal Mi Fans. In the two years that have passed we have built a brand that sees us number 4 in the market, oversees a range of Mi stores spanning the nation, and offers a full ecosystem of products that we are adding to today.”

Leading the inbound-product charge was the all new Redmi Note 7. This stellar new smartphone set sales records in China, selling over a million units in its first. Set for a similar fate as it reaches Vietnamese shores, the device boasts a category-leading 48 mp camera housed inside a stunningly-designed body.
With a Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM1 backside illuminated CMOS sensor and accompanying Tetracell technology, the Redmi Note 7’s camera features enhanced light sensitivity and bright, clear images even in low-light conditions. Coupled with Xiaomi’s latest AI features including night mode, scene detection, beautify and portrait modes, users can create amazing images with unparalleled ease.
Driven by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 AIE with a maximum clock speed of up to 2.2Ghz and powered by an impressive 4000mAh battery, the Redmi Note 7 ensures uncompromised peak performance with a battery that will last over a day for most users and most uses.
The device also includes the oft-requested return of the IR blaster, able to control various home appliances including TV and air-conditioners. And, not to be overlooked, the Redmi Note 7 is shrouded in Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on both front and back, features reinforced corners on the casing, watertight seals for buttons and ports, and a gorgeous 19.5:9 Dot Drop display.
The Redmi Note 7 will be available in both blue and black and in three configurations (3 GB RAM, 32 GB ROM; 4 GB RAM, 64 GB ROM; and 4 GB RAM, 128 GB ROM), price at VND3.99 million, VND4,99 million and VND5.96 million. The 4/64 model will be available from 28 March 2019 with the other models to follow soon after.
Not to be outdone by its big-brother, the Redmi 7 also made its debut at today’s event. Featuring a 6.26-inch display, 12+2 MP dual camera, Corning Gorilla Glass 5, 4000mAh battery and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 in the engine-room, the Redmi 7 will rocket into the record books for the power it packs into an incredible price point. Available in blue and black and retailing at only VND2.99 million, the device once again highlights Xiaomi’s global commitment to honest pricing and to bringing products that truly offer innovation to everyone.
Marking a ‘red letter day’ for Redmi, the Redmi Note 7 and Redmi 7 are the first two cabs-off-the-rank of the recently spun-off sub brand. Earlier this year Xiaomi announced a multi-brand strategy that sees Redmi has become an independent smartphone brand under the Xiaomi umbrella. The Mi series will continue to focus on the mid-to-high end markets, while the Redmi team will have complete autonomy to develop and deliver industry leading entry-level and mid-range devices.
Keeping a watchful eye over the proceedings was the new Mi Home Security Camera Basic 1080. As the name implies, this device features a 360-degree rotating full-HD camera, bolstered by 10m infrared night-vision, the Mi Home Security Camera Basic 1080 even includes an intercom system allowing home and business owners the ability to make themselves heard remotely to an intruder. Ensuring the event was cast in the best possible light was the 16-million color Mi LED Smart Bulb. Finding the perfect ambiance for each room in the house and responding to voice commands, the energy efficient Smart Bulb could be lighting up your life for as long as 11 years. Both products will be available from Match 28th, price at VND699.000 for Mi Home Security Camera Basic 1080, VND499.000 for Mi LED Smart Bulb.

Stunning all-new design
Redmi Note 7 marks the greatest shift in design in the series, sporting a new premium style with the front and rear covered in Corning® Gorilla® Glass 5. On the back, Redmi Note 7 sports the Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM1 backside illuminated CMOS sensor that has 48 million physical pixels. Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 and 400-hour stand-by time
Redmi 7 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 Mobile Platform. This chipset features the Qualcomm® Kryo™ 250 Octa-core CPU, which consists of four performance and four power-saving cores. This gives a significant boost in performance compared to smartphones in this price range, which typically use processors sporting eight power-saving cores. Redmi 7 is designed to support smooth gaming and a great experience for daily use.
Featuring a 6.26″ HD+ Dot Drop display, Redmi 7 has 4-sided curved gradient design that comes in three colors: Comet Blue, Lunar Red and Eclipse Black. Using the same camera setup as Mi 6, the 12MP rear camera has a sensor with 1.25μm pixels that produces higher quality images than other products in the same price range. The front camera supports using hand gestures for selfies.
With an upgraded 4000mAh battery and through system optimizations, Redmi 7 has a stand-by time of up to 400 hours. Redmi 7 open sale in Chinese mainland will start at 10am on 26 March and will retail at RMB 699 for the 2GB+16GB version, RMB 799 for the 3GB+32GB version and RMB 999 for the 4GB+64GB version.
