Intel Launches Core Ultra Processor Series 2 in Vietnam
Intel has officially unveiled its most power-efficient x86 processor series to date, the Intel® Core™ Ultra Series 2, which includes the Intel® Core™ Ultra 200V Series and Intel® Core™ Ultra 200S Series. This new lineup offers significant advancements in performance, power savings, and AI processing capabilities, promising an entirely new experience and meeting a range of user needs.
Intel® Core™ Ultra 200V Series: Breakthrough Battery Life and AI Processing on Laptops
Designed for laptops, the Intel Core Ultra 200V Series represents a groundbreaking advancement in x86 architecture, delivering unprecedented AI performance. This series features a new core architecture that combines P-cores and E-cores, which enables both exceptional performance for demanding tasks and optimized energy consumption. As a result, users can expect smooth, stable, and cool operation, even when multitasking.
The Intel Core Ultra 200V Series allows users to handle tasks from work and content creation to entertainment smoothly and efficiently, with up to three times more performance per thread and an 80% increase in overall performance. Systems equipped with the Intel Core Ultra 200V Series also offer up to 20 hours of battery life, enabling users to work or enjoy entertainment all day without worry.
With computational power reaching 120 TOPS across the CPU, GPU, and fourth-generation NPU, the Intel Core Ultra 200V Series smoothly handles AI applications ranging from professional photo and video editing software to complex machine learning models. Supporting over 300 AI-acceleration features and more than 500 AI models, platforms equipped with this series allow users to fully harness the power of AI.
Additionally, the Intel Core Ultra 200V Series introduces a new Xe2 graphics architecture, increasing mobile graphics processing by over 30%. The series includes up to eight second-generation Xe cores, eight improved ray-tracing units, support for three 4K displays, and integrated XMX AI tools. The Intel Arc integrated graphics card with up to 67 TOPS of computing power enhances gaming and creative application performance, thanks to upgraded XeSS cores.
Intel® Core™ Ultra 200S Series: Bringing the AI PC Era to Desktops
Intel’s latest desktop processors, the Intel Core Ultra 200S Series, include five unlocked processors. The flagship Intel® Core™ Ultra 9 285K features eight high-performance P-cores, the fastest on desktop processors, and up to 16 new-generation E-cores. The combination of P-cores and E-cores delivers up to 14% better multi-threaded performance compared to the previous generation. This series also introduces an integrated NPU, making it the first desktop processor line to do so.
With improved cores and energy efficiency, the Intel Core Ultra 200S Series offers remarkable power savings. Specifically, CPU power consumption is reduced by up to 58% during typical applications, and overall system power usage drops by up to 165 watts during gaming. Thanks to these advancements, single-threaded performance is 6% faster, while multi-threaded performance is up to 14% faster than the previous generation.
These processors support comprehensive AI features by leveraging the combined power of the CPU, GPU, and NPU, providing tech enthusiasts with the intelligent performance they need for gaming and content creation at reduced power consumption. Meanwhile, the NPU’s computing power, reaching 36 TOPS, offloads AI tasks from the GPU, improving frame rates during gaming and maintaining low power use for AI applications.
The Intel® Core® Ultra 200S Series offers easy overclocking capabilities, turbo frequencies of up to 16.6 MHz for P-Core and E-core, and new memory controller support for faster XMP and CUDIMM DDR5 with up to 48GB per DIMM and a total of 192GB. The Intel Extreme Tuning Utility now includes one-touch overclocking support.
Combining the new Intel 800 Series chipset and Intel® Core® Ultra 200S processors promises a powerful computing system. The Intel 800 Series chipset offers robust connectivity with up to 24 PCIe 4.0 lanes, 8 SATA 3.0 ports, and 10 USB 3.2 ports, while the Intel® Core® Ultra 200S processors emphasize processing performance with 20 CPU PCIe 5.0 lanes and 4 CPU PCIe 4.0 lanes. The new desktop series also includes modern connectivity technologies such as two integrated Thunderbolt™ 4 ports, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and Intel® Killer™ Wi-Fi.
Release Timeline
The Intel Core Ultra 200S Series desktop processors are available at official Intel retail stores starting today. Laptops with Intel Core Ultra 200V Series processors will be distributed in Vietnam through Intel’s business partners in line with future plans.
