ROBINS PRESENTS GIFTS TO MINORITIES THROUGH “DESIGNS FROM THE VILLAGE” PROGRAM
HCMC – 31 May 2016: Robins Department Store – a member of leading regional retailer Central Group, visited and presented gifts to villagers of K’Long Village in Vietnam’s Lam Dong Province. This is a part of the company’s corporate social responsibility program called “Designs from the village” commenced by Robins Department Store and talented designer Adrian Anh Tuan in Sep 2015.
“Designs from the village” is inspired by an idea that Vietnam cultural heritage will be utilized to create sustainable supports for local communities. The project saw Robins and Adrian Anh Tuan- Vietnamese fashion designer, visiting remote ethnic villages in Lam Dong province to draw inspiration for a new collection to be sold exclusively at Robins. The limited edition 10-piece collection is of 10 T-shirt designs, young and unisex style for both men and women, uniquely designed with combination of both traditional of “tho cam” patterns. This signature charity collection was sold exclusively at the two Robins Department Stores in Ho Chi Minh and Ha Noi.
Robins has used all profits from the sales to build standard toilets for villagers and donated numerous other daily living items. “Designs from the village” does not only give financial support but also launches new social services, aiming to create a sustainable basis to improve the lives of ethnic minorities.
