Japan’s number 1 sports company enters Vietnam
25 February 2017: Supersports, one of Vietnam’s largest sporting goods chains, today introduced Mizuno products to Vietnam for the first time. Japan’s century-old sporting goods icon makes its debut at Supersports Vivocity outlet in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 7.
This is the first time Mizuno running shoes have been introduced in Vietnam. The line will be officially distributed by Supersports.
Mizuno is one of Japan’s best known sports equipment and sportswear company. Founded in Osaka in 1906, today, Mizuno is a global corporation manufacturing a wide variety of sports equipment and sportswear for running, golf, tennis, baseball, volleyball, football, cycling, judo, table tennis, badminton and athletics.
Mizuno products have been highly sought-after around the world since the first pairs rolled off the lines in 1906. They are Japan’s number 1 brand, and a favored provider in the US, France, Germany and Italy.
The lineup includes Mizuno’s famed Wave Rider and Sayonara lines, sure to suit the diverse needs of Vietnam’s customers. This includes the 290 gram Wave Rider 20, one of the lightest running shoes on the market today.
The Wave Rider line has long featured Mizuno’s acclaimed MIZUNO WAVE technology, which sees the soles designed with stabilizing ‘waves’ throughout, serving to enhance stability and comfort for runners in-stride. This is achieved by optimal foot pressure distribution at impact, helping runners achieve a perfection of balance unrivaled in the market.
“We spent over a year looking for the right partner to work with as we enter Vietnam,” said Mr. Kiyoshi Tatani, General Director of Mizuno Singapore. “We found that in Supersports – a member of Central Group Vietnam. With 10 stores around the nation and rich experience in retail, I believe that our co-operation will be a breakthrough in bringing modern sports equipment to Vietnamese consumers. We are thrilled to appoint them as our exclusive distributor for our sports wear and sporting goods around the country.”
Speaking at the brand’s introduction, Supersports Vietnam Representative, Mr Darryl Peacock, said: “We are extremely excited to be cooperating with Mizuno. Supersports has long been committed to deliver new brands and new choices to sports-lovers in Vietnam, and today’s announcement sees us fulfilling this promise. Supersports will embark upon a significant expansion plan in 2017, opening between five and seven new stores, and offering consumers around the country to experience Mizuno and all of our other brands for themselves.”
At the event, Supersports and Mizuno also introduced to Vietnamese consumers the foot gauge machine with “Precision Fit” technology to bring to customers the most accurate advice for their running shoes.
